Hunt takes the title at T.J Atkinson Memorial, Stanhope.

Youngster Adam Hunt from County Durham added his name to a fantastic list of players who have won the T.J Atkinson Memorial over the years including the likes of Tony Wood, Keith Wright, David Prins, Paul Telford, Butch, Dougie McCarthy, James Forster, Ray Foreman, Alan Bell and not forgetting the late Phil Nixon and David Dodds.

The competition attracted players from all over the North-East, with a field including BDO and PDC players.

Adam cruised into the last semi finals going up against Tyne & Wear player, Ryan Joyce. The game went into a decider, with Adam throwing a 12 dart leg to take the 4-3 win and go up against Tony Wood in the final.

Wood has been playing some fantastic darts as of late, with some deep runs in competitions and putting on a good show in the recent Knack Finals Night.

The youngster Hunt took out a massive 170 checkout, with Wood firing back with a 145 to break straight after, however Adam proved to strong and came out on top with a 5-2 scoreline and the title for 2017.
