Hunt takes another title

After winning the T.J Atkinson Memorial at the weekend, Adam Hunt continued his success by  winning the 8 Week Competition held at The Crook Hotel on Tuesday evening.

The competition was ran over a series of 8 weeks, with one outright qualifier each week and the remaining 8 qualifying through a points system. With a great turn out each week the competition featured some of the North-East’s best.

On finals night the 8 outright qualifiers were Butch, Eddie Mordica, Alan Bell, Shaun Matthews, Keith Wright, Tony Wood, George Davison and Adam Hunt.

The points qualifiers were made up by Jeff Close, Keith Newton, Graham Robertson, Aidan Reid, Dean Hope, Trevor Hudspeth, Michael Thompson, and the only lady to qualify with fantastic darts throughout the qualifiers, Margaret Stewart.

Adam saw off Jeff Close 4-1 before whitewashing Shaun Matthews and George Davison to set up a cracking final against Butch.

With the final best of 9 and very close in the opening stages, Butch missed the Bull for a 101 checkout with Adam taking advantage with a 120 out to make the tie 4-1.

The game went to 4-2, before a thrilling last leg with Adam sitting on 170 after 9 and Butch on 201 after 9.

Adam hit a big 134 to leave 36, with Butch hitting 177 to leave 24.

Adam took out 36 in 1 to be crowned ‘The Crook Hotel’ champion.
